Project record
A complete history of the website project, reconstructed from two records: every file the work left in Google Drive, and every message the two of us sent about it. Each date below is either a timestamp Drive holds against the file, or the day a message was sent.
Each bar is one month, sized by how many files were created in it. The shaded stretches are the months when no file was made. Underneath runs the second track — the same span as the messages record it, which is not the same story.
Bar heights use a square-root scale so the quiet months stay visible next to October 2024; the exact file count is printed above each bar. Files are counted in the month they were created. Dots on the lower track are the quoted messages listed further down.
7 findings, each one traceable to a timestamp in the tables below or a message in the thread.
This is the part no file in Drive records. The developer was re-engaged on 29 August 2025, a finished responsive homepage was sent on 6 October at akashic-roots.webflow.io, and the reply the next day was “I love the website.” It was built in Webflow, which writes nothing to Drive, so the file record shows a blank where the best work of the project sits.
From 1 November 2025 the answer four times over was that the content was coming shortly — 1, 10 and 19 November, then 2 December. The intake folder made on 28 October 2025 stayed empty. An approved site was waiting to go live and never did.
The last substantive edit in either folder is Jamie Website Final Copy, modified 3 January 2025 at 18:49 UTC. Everything dated after that is a note, a spreadsheet, or an empty folder. Read on its own it suggests the project ended there. It did not.
Home Page.pdf and Pages 1 to 8 were all produced on the evening of 5 November 2024 and last opened at 21:17 the same evening, within three minutes of being made. Drive records no later opening.
October 2024 alone accounts for 145 of the 179 files in the project. The four days from 2 to 5 November account for most of the rest. Everything else is gaps.
Jamie uploads was made on 28 October 2025, modified five minutes later, and contains zero files. Whatever was meant to arrive there never did.
From 3 January 2025 to 31 July 2026 nothing was created or edited in the production folder — but the messages in that window are not quiet. On 31 July 2026 the folder was opened again at 01:05, and a document titled jamie letter was started at 21:49 that evening.
Everything above the file tables that is dated but not filed comes from here. The threads were exported on 1 Aug 2026 and read end to end; the quotations further down are reproduced exactly as they were sent.
1 Aug 2024 – 1 Aug 2026
The client thread. Every message is on topic, so it is kept in full.
10 Apr 2024 – 31 Jul 2026
A general work thread covering many clients. Only the twenty-seven Akashic Roots messages and the context around each one are kept.
The project is split across two folders in two different places, which is why the earliest and the latest documents are not filed together.
My Drive → AAA Clients
The client folder. Holds both the oldest and the newest artefacts.
Shared drive, top level
The production folder. Scrape, brand assets, imagery, copy and proofs.
Both records in one line. Entries marked file record are Drive timestamps; entries marked message carry the words that were actually said that day.
First document created: Akashic records Top 100 Keywords.
Three CSV exports and a 143 KB SEO copy document, all inside twenty minutes.
The scope agreed at the outset: a template, a developer paid directly, Webflow hosting, copy written for you, and a one to two week turnaround.
“Spend 50 to $75 on a template. Pay my developer 250 directly. Host on webflow for $18 a month I believe. I will generate your content. Problem solved in about seven to 14 days”Doug
Copy scrape and URL list produced from the live site.
A Zelle transfer did not arrive. It was cancelled and re-sent the following day.
“So you didn’t get the $500????”Jamie
Confirmed received the same morning. This is the only payment in the record.
“Ok. Payment sent! Please confirm.”Jamie
Logo V3 and the web header exported — the last brand asset ever made.
Home page and pages 1–8 set as PDFs between 21:08 and 21:37 UTC.
Acuity was allowed to lapse on the understanding that the new site would replace it. The new site did not arrive for another ten months, so bookings had nowhere to go in between.
“The Acuity Scheduler is due to renew on my website Dec. 10th for $328. and I don’t want to renew it since we’re updating everything.”Jamie
Hosting could be allowed to lapse; the registration had to be kept. The domain is registered through Tucows via Squarespace.
“we can point your domain anywhere we wish, if you are the owner. rn it's pointing to squarespace, with registerar being Tucows”Doug
Jamie Website Final Copy edited for the last time. This is where the Drive record ends.
Asked the same day as the last copy edit.
“Can we get started on uploading the content now - when you have a chance, and I can make minor changes on the back end?”Jamie
A second follow-up in as many days. Nothing moved for the next seven months.
“Checking in - are you still on board or have the bandwidth to help with my site and switching platforms to better rank for SEO?”Jamie
Booking and payments were rebuilt on Calendly Pro and Stripe, independent of the website project.
“I just looked into the Calendly option and I’m going to go with the Pro Plan. Much more economical than Acuity!”Jamie
Unrelated to the website, but it removed the listing from Google Maps and search while the site was still down. Still unresolved when raised again in January 2026.
“Would you or your friend be able to help me with my Google Business profile in getting it reinstated, please? It’s suspended due to my address change.”Jamie
The developer was re-engaged to build the site in Webflow. None of this work appears in Drive.
“If you'd like to work on Jamie's site, I will pay you for it, $300. Her project never got finished, and she is reluctant to ask me to finish it.”Doug
A complete, responsive homepage on a Webflow staging address, sent at 7:47 in the evening.
“Take a look and let me know what you think... https://akashic-roots.webflow.io/”Doug
Her first reply that morning was “I like it a lot!!!!!!!”. This is the high point of the project.
“I love the website. I only perused it, but I’ll go back and read it all!”Jamie
A folder named Jamie uploads was created and never received a single file.
Repeated on 10 and 19 November and again on 2 December. The remaining copy never arrived, and the approved build was never put live.
“Btw, I’ll be getting started on website stuff shortly.”Jamie
Said while reconciling which jobs had been settled. The build was finished and approved; the invoice for it was not.
“No akshic root is done.”The developer
Answered the next day: “Of course, always!” Nothing followed.
“Hey Doug, I think about updating my website all the time. Is this still on the table and an option for us to work together on it?”Jamie
The trigger for the current re-engagement.
“my subscription has expired for my Squarespace website and thought this may be a good opportunity to switch over if the offer still stands?”Jamie
The content has to be recovered from the Wayback Machine and from the 2024 scrape held in Drive.
“since I haven’t renewed my host Squarespace subscription, my website it currently offline so I don’t have access to it in order to get you the info you need.”Jamie
Both folders opened; a new document, jamie letter, started that evening.
Grouped by phase. Highlighted rows are the ones that carry the story. All times are UTC.
